What if you had bought a little every week?
Dollar-cost averaging means buying a fixed amount on a schedule, no matter the price. See how it would have worked out using real daily prices since 2017.
About dollar-cost averaging
- What is DCA (dollar-cost averaging)?
- DCA means investing the same amount at regular intervals, for example $10 every week, instead of trying to time the market. You automatically buy more coins when prices are low and fewer when prices are high.
- Is DCA better than investing a lump sum?
- Not always. In a market that only goes up, a lump sum on day one usually wins. DCA reduces the risk of buying everything at a peak and makes investing a habit. Toggle “Compare with lump sum” to see both.
- Where does the price data come from?
- Daily closing prices from Binance's public market data, going back to 2017 for most coins. Results ignore trading fees, spreads and taxes, so real results will be slightly lower.
- Does this predict future returns?
- No. Past performance does not guarantee future results. Crypto is highly volatile and you can lose money. This calculator is for education only and is not financial advice.
