About RSI
- What is RSI?
- The Relative Strength Index compares the size of recent gains with recent losses over 14 candles and turns it into a score from 0 to 100. It was created by J. Welles Wilder in 1978 and is one of the most used indicators in trading.
- What do overbought and oversold mean?
- Above 70 a coin has gone up quickly and is called overbought; below 30 it has fallen quickly and is called oversold. In a strong trend RSI can stay above 70 or below 30 for a long time, so it is a warning light rather than a signal to buy or sell.
- Why look at daily and 4-hour RSI?
- Daily RSI shows the bigger trend, 4-hour RSI shows the last few days. When both are extreme at the same time the move is stretched on both time frames.
