What happened to your money?
Pick your currency and a start date to see what the same amount became as cash, in the bank, in US dollars, gold, Bitcoin or the S&P 500, measured in your own currency and after inflation.

How it is worked out
- What does "after inflation" mean?
- Prices go up every year. If prices rose 50% since you started, 150,000 today buys what 100,000 bought back then. The real change shows how much more (or less) your money can actually buy.
- Where does the data come from?
- Exchange rates, gold, Bitcoin and the S&P 500 come from Yahoo Finance month-end prices. Inflation is the World Bank's yearly consumer price inflation for your country. The latest year may not be published yet; it then counts as zero.
- Is the bank interest real?
- It is your own assumption (change it above), compounded monthly before tax. Real deposit rates vary by bank and year.
- Is this advice?
- No. Past results do not predict the future, and Bitcoin in particular can fall a lot. It is a way to see how your currency's value changed.
