P2P, or peer-to-peer, trading means buying or selling crypto directly with another person, usually on an exchange that holds the coins until payment is made.

You pay by bank transfer or local payment apps, often at rates different from the bank rate. Main risks are fake payment screenshots, chargebacks and frozen bank accounts. Stay inside the exchange's escrow, and never release coins until the money is really in your account.
