What is an ETF?

An ETF, or exchange-traded fund, is a fund you can buy and sell on a stock exchange like a single share.

One ETF can hold hundreds of stocks, or follow gold, bonds or Bitcoin. That gives you a spread of investments with a single purchase, often for a low yearly fee. Its value still goes down when the things it holds go down.
