What is RSI?

RSI, or relative strength index, is a score from 0 to 100 that compares recent gains with recent losses.

A reading above 70 is often called overbought, and below 30 oversold. These labels do not mean the price has to reverse: during a strong trend, RSI can stay at extreme levels for a long time. It describes the past and does not predict the future.
